Attend the "Race for Grace" Derby-time Dinner! Print E-mail

You are cordially invited to attend the Race for Grace, the Derby-time fundraising dinner for the non-profit Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy. 

DATE: Monday, April 26, 2010 - 6 p.m.
PLACE: A new location at Churchill Downs--Millionaire's Row, Sixth Floor! 
 
  

 Guest speaker is Avery Johnson, a popular NBA studio analyst for ESPN. Mr. Johnson is the former  head coach of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and a retired NBA professional basketball player who on  a world championship while playing for the San Antonio Spurs.

Also appearing at the dinner will be Hall of Fame jockey Pat Day, who won the 1992 KentuckyDerby winner aboard Lil E. Tee, as well as other horseracing notables.

Performing at the dinner will be the "Spiritual Wonders," a Louisville-based group of a-cappella singers whose inspirational music has gained fans throughout the region. Tony Cruise, the weekday morning personality for 84 WHAS Radio, will be the master of ceremonies.  

The evening also includes a live and silent auction of unusual horseracing memorabilia, sports tickets and other items of interest. Auction items can be viewed on this web site on April 10. Please plan to check them out!

Tickets are $150  per person. Table for eight is $1,200. Dress for the evening is business casual. Various sponsorships are also available and impact the level of services that the interdenominational ministry is able to provide to track workers.

PLEASE NOTE: Our event has grown, and the new location at Churchill Downs is Millionaire's Row, Sixth Floor!  Enter either at Gate 17 off Central Avenue or Gate 10 off of Longfield Avenue, and look for signs to point the way. Ladies Mission Groups donate to Chaplaincy at Churchill Downs

The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy is blessed to receive the support of dozens of churches and community organizations.  That support comes in many forms, from financial contributions to donating items and volunteering time at horseracing tracks  throughout Kentucky.   

The members of the Ladies Mission Groups at Southeast Christian Church are is an example of the support received by the Chaplaincy at Churchill Downs.  The ladies recently donated work clothes and personal care items for the track's Emergency Closet, which helps track workers in times of need.  

The Southeast ladies who participated the special donation drive are members of the Abigail,  Dorcas, Lydia, Rebecca and Zipporah Mission Groups
